Not that much of a spoiler as this has been revealed in the comic comments by many people, but I've never officially confirmed it ...

Anyway, many pixies tend to prefer names taht either have meaning on their own, or are anagrams of concepts they (subconsciously) associate with.
Hence, Feiht backwards is indeed Thief. And yes it is also meant to sound both as Fate as Faith, concepts with their own distinct meaning when applied to Feiht.
Earlier in the strip we met the Pixie Sohac, which is an annagram of Chaos.

Less known or intuitive, Ayne's name is the reverse of Enya, but in her case it's because her personality is in some aspects quite the reverse of Enya's music.

Leaf is of course from "Fallen Leaf", and is not his real name but the nickname he gained when he became an orphan.

Myhrad's name is random.

Slightly Bigger Spoiler!
At least one other character whose name is important is the Smart Troll ...
I'll leave it as an exercise to the readers to find out what his name comes from.

Ayne is definitely the anti-Enya... The troll, Geb, sounds a lot like Ged, or Sparrowhawk, the Archmage of Earthsea. Who, as a matter of fact, appeared in the comic "Cameo Day" (My favorite so far). Of course, it's also possible that Geb would never beg. Does The Mount Erac not care how stupid he is?

oh my, I had forgotten TME ...

That one is a cheesy word-game for which you need to know dutch :

The = De
Mount = Berg

So it becomes De Berg Erac or de Bergerac, from the play/opera Cyrano de Bergerac which TME's and Geb's original appearance was a parody from.

But no, Geb is neither Ged (tho the similarity is not coincidental either) nor Beg

I guess I can divulge now that Geb's name is actually from the egyptian god of earth.

Malvenicus is pseudolatin. From "Mal" = Bad and "Veni" = I came. Roughly combining (with a total disregard for the rules of latin grammar) into "the evil that came" (yeah, he doesn't know any latin either). Meant to sound somewhat vaguely threatening (tho he regrets that now).

King Nebra of the Dwarves was named after frequent commenter/reader Nebra Repalk.

Rhyme is a nickname, given for obvious reasons.

I deny all allegations that any bribery/blackmail/exchange of favors occurred between myself, Mith, and Alien when the name selection was made.
