Books are complex things ...

Created Mon 21 May 12 - 1:56 by Mithandir in category Chasing the Sunset News

As many of you may know, Alien and I have been working on getting some print books out for Chasing the Sunset. About a week and a half ago, we finally got our hands on the first prints, whee!

The books we have printed now are 44 page issues containing 40 pages of the comic and 4 bonus pages, all printed in full colour in a magazine format comic (8x10.5" which is almost A4).

I was just about to link the online store page for that for everybody so anybody who wanted one could buy one and ... found out that the publisher (Ka-Blam, a comics print-on-demand service) had changed their formats.

Now, instead of the stiff cardstock covers we wanted, all of the issues will have flexible glossy covers instead (except for the ones we'd already printed).

Our original plan had been to release a number of 44 page issues and then combine each five of those into a 220 page perfect bound book. Now we want to know whether we should still make the smaller issues.

So yeah .. let us know. If enough people want the 44 page issues, we will continue making them and the first one will go on sale tomorrow with a second to follow in august. If not, we will only release the bigger books and the first one will come out next year around June.

I want to buy one or more 44 page issues at $6.00, even with floppy covers.
I'm only interested in the perfect bound 220 page books at $30
I don't want any books

Note: it isn't that much extra effort for us to make the 44 page ones on top of the bigger ones.

PulsyI don't mind buying smaller books, but hardcovers are so much better then soft covers... I definitely prefer a hardcover of either length! Also, which types have the most extra's? :P
MithandirImportant note: this isn't hardcover Vs Softcover, it's softcover Vs Very softcover.

Both will have exactly the same extras (at least that's the current plan).
Iceea III would buy the full volume as well as the shorter versions, soft or hard cover.
PulsyEhhhh... So basically we are talking Belgian comic book versus American comic book?
CerysHey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems
with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended
up losing months of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any methods
to prevent hackers?
