Well there's arguments, and then there's pointless bickering. I have a feeling that our "arguments" quickly degrade into the latter. Furthermore I personally describe argument as a disagreement with hostility, latent or manifest. What you're referring to is a discussion or debate that provides intellectual stimulation and no hostility is involved.
