As the noted when Leaf got the staff a Pixie would have forgotten about the lightning within minutes. No chance a Pixie is going to keep her attantion on something for a score of years (however much a "score" is).
Maybe cast the spell with the help of the staff and then feiht "borrowed" it, which left him unable to dispell it?

I don't think it's the social life that he's worried about. I think it's just the stupid lightning appearing every time your name is said. I'd get tired of that too.
Although, considering I'm a warrior-type and the furthest thing from a spellcaster I don't think I need to worry about such problems.
