Maybe this is part of their plan, to save him with Magic (or something) so that he'll be all "Gosh! I never knew I needed magic to defend against other eviller magic! I recant!"

Also, their plans may be "best laid out" and complicated, but i do not think they will be stupid enough to build part of their plan on a pixie

Actually, building your plan on a pixie is apparently a good idea. If a plan is increasingly insane and unconnected, the less chance that it will be stopped. If Parts One, Two, and Three are independent of each other, and say Part Two is defeated, than it will have little result on the final outcome.

Or just like its told in old stories
