Mimir says:

This scene is hilarious. Just hilarious.

NotFirst says:

Wait, there is a proper way to complete the trial?

Anakha says:

I`m wondering that too. Well, perhaps burning down the opposition with raw Power?
Also: Is the first statement of leaf a reference to the Movie The Labyrinth?

firelander says:

ok, i really like this one. And yet, a bard is sort of a mage too isn't it.

KBKarma says:

Anakha: It most certainly is. Nice reference, guys.

Pulsy says:

Nice perspective in this one! Can't be easy with a diagonal carpet... good job!

Silk says:

as far as whether or not a bard is a mage, well, that all depends on Mithandir, sometimes bards are mages, sometimes just conduits, the mythology varies

AileenHeather says:

Hehehe Yay Labyrinth! Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered I have fought my way here to the castle, beyond the goblin city. To take back the child that you have stolen.
... yes that is my favorite movie :-) *loves this comic more and more lol*

Nebra Reppalk says:

I'm leaning towards the traditional definition that mages are people with large amounts of magical power, having dedicated a large portion of their lives to its study. Bards on the other hand, know a few simple tricks, help with their performance, perform first aid, help them escape from the city watch.

Think of it like this: A doctor spends years training and preparing to be able to help people with a wide range of sicknesses, injuries, and so on. A Boy Scout on the other hand has only a little training in first aid. He could probably help you, but seeing a doctor is optimal.

Alric says:

"For my will is as strong as yours and my kingdom as great...

...For you have no power over me!"

Alric says:

"You remind me of the babe."
"What babe?"
"The babe with the power."
"What power?"
"The power of voodoo."
"Who do?"
"You do."
"Do what?"
"Remind me of the babe."

Alric says:

Now, when will we see a cameo of the "Bog of Eternal Stench?" :p

Schubacca says:

"Smell BAAADDD!!!"

Cassie says:

The air is sweet and fragrant!

Ellendra says:

Dance the magic dance!

eekee says:

Malv isn't half as bad as he thinks he is. I mean... he could be doing evil stuff we don't get to see, but somehow I doubt it. I don't doubt he's got a bit morally careless in the past... Oh I don't know.

*Shiiinies* says:

I was looking at some of the past chapters, is Malv the sorcerer that Rhyme spoke of? The one that caused the big flood that washed Leaf's father away?

Mithandir says:

Shinies: He is not. That mage was killed about sixty years before the start of the story by angry villagers, resulting in the furies.

AileenHeather says:

Oh goodness what did I start? *reads through the quotes* *gasp* No one quoted my favorite lines yet lol.

"Ello"
"Did you just say hello?"
"No I said Ello, but thats close enough"
Or anything said by the card door guards lol.

Skreyola says:

As usual, Leaf keeps his wit sharp. :)

wolf says:

You say that so often. Iwonder what your basis for comparison is?

I love this comic

Yaten says:

"Who's writin' on the friggin' walkawalka!?"
"Your mother is a friggin' aardvark!"

^lesser known quotes of the Labyrinth (the little floor turners).

And my favourite:

"What is that plastic thing around your wrist?"
"Oh this? How did this get here?"
"Higgle..."
"Hoggle."
"Yeees, if I thought for one second that you would betray me, I would be forced to suspend you head first into the Bog of Eternal Stench."

Lise says:

I

Lise says:

...don't know why this just ate my comment. Never mind.

Airobeth says:

Someones watched labrynth a bit huh? lol leaf! I dont think hed make a good sarah, or sarah wouldnt make a good leaf... not sure which

Airobeth says:

"ITS NOT FAIR!"

Goldenear777 says:

What's the Labrinth? if it's a movie, what's it rated? i'm not allowed to watch anything with a rating greater than PG-13.

Mithandir says:

Labyrinth is an 80's movie from Jim Henson (of muppets fame) starring David Bowie. It's rated PG in the US. It's ostensibly a kid's movie but I know a lot of adults who love it :)

RocksMapsandCrafts says:

Wow, I miss reading a day and you throw in the best reference! Labyrinth freaked me out when I was a kid (even though it's PG) and I've enjoyed it more and more as I got older. Nice reference, and well done on this strip!

thefieryonionofDOOOM says:
